Central Valley Garden:: October
“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”― L. M. Montgomery
October is finally closing in and that means it's time to get A LOT accomplished in the garden! Shrubs, trees, perennials and annuals can all get planted this month, as well as anything that needs transplanting.
Consultation: Preparing for Fall
My latest consultation was needed in preparation for two upcoming weddings. My client had already accomplished a lot in her raised rock wall beds. The goal: Fall prep to get her plants looking their best for the weddings in October.
It's hard to imagine cooler weather will ever come when triple digits are still occurring every day! Believe it or not, now is the time to identify which plants may need some light pruning later this month.
The House with the Green Door
My latest design project was the front garden of a home in Riverstone, the new community in Madera. The welcoming entry and green door of the front immediately caught my eye, but the installed landscape was lackluster.
